New American Pathways
Every summer, the Center for Chemical Evolution partners with local refugess-serving non-profit, New American Pathways, to deliver science content to some of the state's newest Americans. From undergraduate researchers to postdocs, everyone gets involved.
Engaging K12 Audiences
Teacher workshops, cool lab activities, demo days, and guest appearances in classrooms are just some of the ways we accomplish this goal. We are currently pursuing classroom assessment of our animation program and dissemination of the Group Intelligence program into schools.
Science Taverns and Cafes
Center faculty and students have shared their research in public talks throughout Atlanta and beyond.
Science Festivals
The Center played founding role with a Gold sponsorship level at the inaugural Atlanta Science Festival, hosting 5 events through the week. Since then, the partnership has continued to grow, with the CCE contributing multiple signature programs each year. The Center is eager to form partnerships with more festivals and events.
Animations in Formal Education
The Center for Chemical Evolution partners with Stated Clearly to produce science animations about chemical evolution and origins of life chemistry. Supplemental materials are now being developed to increase their utility in formal learning environments. In an effort to make these products as generalizable as possible, every animation produced by Stated Clearly has now been correlated with Next Generation Science Standards in chemistry and biology. More information will be available soon.
